Psychological Counseling of Girl Students by Consultant Psychologist Smt. Rinku Pathak, ILS Hospital, Dumdum, Kolkata on 8th March 2019 to commemorate International Women’s Day was organised by the Value Education Cell of Prabhu Jagatbandhu College. The programme started with an introductory lecture by Dr. Manojit Ghosh, Head of the Department of Economics, Prabhu Jagatbandhu College. He highlighted the need of psychological counseling for students. Next Professor Nimai Chand Dan, Assistant Professor in History gave a small talk on Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa ‘s ideas on values and their contemporary significance. Dr. Sutapa Ray, Associate Professor in Philosophy and Convener of Value Education Cell introduced the Psychologist to the students and asked them to have a frank and free discussion about their problems with the Consultant Psychologist. Professor Indrani Chakraborty, Head of the Department of English also was actively engaged in encouraging the students to participate in the counseling programme. Professor Rabeya Khatun, Guest Lecturer in Philosophy managed the students very efficiently. The students were very attentive and receptive. The programme was a grand success.
