Departmental Activities
- The department organizes various activities like quiz, debate and essay competition and the students are encourged to participate in the same. In the session 2017-2018, we organized a one-day seminar on the Philosophy and Achievements of great Personalities on 9th January, 2018. Professor Susanta Lahiri of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics delivered a lecture as a Tribute to Madam Curie.
- For effective learning and creating interest for the students are guided by the Faculty members to prepare wall magazines, posters on relevant topics.
- Students are also motivated to participate in various science programs organized by other institutions
- Annual Academic tour is organized to various esteemed academic institutions like Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Science City, Indian Museum. in the current academic session a batch of 40 students visited Science city, Kolkata on Thursday, 17th January, 2019.
The Department of Chemistry organized a UGC sponsored one-day workshop “UNDERGRADUATE CHEMISTRY: EVOLVING EFFECTIVE METHODS OF TEACHING AND EVALUATION” in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Ramsaday College, Amta on Tuesday, 31st March, 2015. The Chairman of Undergraduate Board of Studies, Head of Dept. of Chemistry, and Dean of Science of Calcutta University were present as guest of honour in the event. Experienced faculty members from physical, organic and inorganic background shared their own field experience and insights on teaching and evaluation of the present curriculum. Several colleges affiliated to Calcutta University participated in this workshop.
